Gears of War 3 And Judgment Have Severe Frame Rate (FPS) Issues On Xbox One
Digital Foundry has worked on a complete analysis of the Gears of War titles now available through the Backwards Compatibility program for Xbox One. According to the Eurogamer tech magicians, it seems that Gears of War 3 and Judgment are encountering important issues when it comes to frame rate, just like it happened back at launch with Halo Reach.
In that case, Microsoft resolved all of the issues with a series of patches, so it is possible that is going to happen all over again with Gears. However, it looks like Gears and Gears 2 are not dips-free, despite those not being as severe as in the third game and Judgment.
In those games, as you can see from the video at the source, frame rate goes down up to 19fps, which makes the action literally broken when a lot of objects (enemies, bullets, buildings and more) happen to be on the screen at the same time – Horde 2.0 is a good example of it.
Again, hopefully Microsoft is already working on a fix, so just bring it on until we can see something concrete coming from them. In the meantime, have you given those games a try on Xbox One already? Do you think the situation is so dramatic as it appears by looking at Digital Foundry videos? Let us know in the comments below.
