Red Dead Redemption 2 On Project Scorpio Will Run At 4K Resolution, First Killer Blow From Microsoft?
Under the leadership of Phil Spencer, Microsoft's Xbox Division has made some tremendous improvements. Xbox One reveal and the launch was no less than a disaster which no one saw coming, and the damage level was so high that Microsoft didn't get any chance to make a comeback, however, Phil Spencer smartly managed to bring down the damage to the lowest level possible.
Microsoft Corporate vice president Yusuf Mehdi recently admitted to the world that Xbox One failed solely for one reason, Microsoft failed to deliver what Xbox fans wanted. It was a bold admission and more of a message from Microsoft to all Xbox fans worldwide on the line: We know we did a mistake, but rest assured it won't be repeated in future.
With Project Scorpio, Microsoft is looking to regain territory it lost to Sony (in Xbox One vs PS4 battle). How can they do it? The rule is simple, make available some high-quality games (third and first party both) at Project Scorpio launch, and with them so the capability of Project Scorpio (in terms of graphics performance).
Our friend at WindowsCentral recently got their hands on a short list of games that will run at 4K resolution on Project Scorpio. The publication says that they have confirmed the authenticity of the list. According to the list, Forza 7 is going to be one of the flagship game or Project Scorpio, and it will run at true 4K resolution. The reveal of the game will be more a statement to the world that this is what Project Scorpio is capable of.
In addition to Forza 7, other first party games included in the list were: Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2. Few games that caught my attention were mentioned in the Third Party section in the list, and they are Red Dead Redemption 2 and Battlefront 2. Both games are said to run at 4K resolution on Project Scorpio. Other notable entries were: FIFA, Call of Duty, Madden.
Furthermore, the report added that Xbox fans can expect to see Xbox One games that use dynamic 900p to 1080p resolution scaling will be able to scale all the way up to 4K on Project Scorpio.
If this report turns out to be true then all I would like to say that Microsoft has answered the critic's query: will there be enough content for Project Scorpio at launch to make it a worthy purchase? What do you guys think? Share your opinion with us in the comment section below.
