Star Wars Battlefront II Not Coming With A Season Pass, But Early Access Confirmed
It seems Electronic Arts and DICE have learned something good from feedback on the original Star Wars Battlefront, as the recently announced first person shooter won't be featuring a Season Pass. At least, this is what they're telling us now, but some plans might be in the making now to offer a full set of additional content and support along the road.
You might remember that 2015's Battlefront featured a huge season pass that was almost as pricey as the main game. That was pretty disappointing basically not for the value of the additional contents themselves, as they were nice and fun, but because of the content the core experience was packed with. In one word, Battlefront was very, very small.
"When we looked at the way Battlefront had evolved over its lifetime, with the DLC and everything, we decided, 'You know what? For this type of game, season passes are not the best thing. We need to [take it apart] and come up with something better," creative directorBernd Diemer told Mashable.
In a later note issued to Mashable, EA didn't want to confirm a proper season pass won't be popping up when we get closer to the game's release, but apparently Star Wars Battlefront II will come with "more depth, more progression, and more content."
More importantly, in case you are an EA/Origin Access member you can get early access to Star Wars Battlefront II on November 9. The game's releasing on November 17, so you can have a one week head start on both the campaign (probably it'll be limited to a certain portion of the story, just as Mass Effect Andromeda) and the multiplayer modes.
