Shadow of the Colossus PS4 vs PS3 Graphics Comparison, It Is A Hell Of A Remake, Mind Blowing
Sony at E3 2017 announced Shadow of the Colossus for PlayStation 4. Just a teaser trailer for the game was showcased, and nothing was said about what exactly is going to be for PS4: remake or a remaster because the game has already been remastered for PS3 with 3D support? This query started trending on the internet immediately after the trailer aired at E3 2017, what exactly Sony is doing new with Shadow of the Colossus for PS4? Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has cleared the air in a recent interview with popular Japanese magazine Famitsu.
Yoshida revealed that Shadow of the Colossus for PlayStation 4 is a Complete Remake, not a Remaster. The development team (Bluepoint Games) working on the game is remaking all the assets.
"It is a remake," Yoshida told Famitsu. "The game content is the same as the original version, but all the assets are being remade. I figured we could use such tech to make if we're going to make Shadow of the Colossus in the PS4 era. Bluepoint is the development company behind the PS3 remaster versions of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. So we know them rather well."
In addition to this, Yoshida confirmed that Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4 will have optional new controls.
"It's the same, but player preferences for controls and such change over time, so we're working on implementing a more modernized way to play," Yoshida explained. "And of course you can play with a feel of the original version, but what we're doing is showing how great the original work is, using today's technology."
