No Microtransactions in Take-Two's Upcoming RPG by Obsidian

Take-Two Private Division To Publish Obsidian RPG

Take-Two interactive made quite a statement when they said that all of its future games will have microtransactions or as they like to call it "recurrent consumer spending opportunities". Take-Two gave quite an "opportunity" to the player by asking them to spend extra money on a game they already spent for. This statement received a lot of media attention and was dissed by the gaming community to some extent considering the recent Star Wars Battlefront II controversy.

But, that doesn't seem to be the case for their new studio Private Division. Private Division is their latest studio which focuses on the indie game development and boosting other Indie studios, as Private Division's latest game which will come from Obsidian Studios will have no microtransactions whatsoever.

Obsidian has not specified many details about the new RPG however they did make a comment about the microtransactions and Private Division, stating "Private Division has in no way pressured the team to include microtransactions in the title.

"Far from 'pushing' us to put anything—microtransactions or otherwise—into our game, Private Division has been incredibly supportive of our vision, our creative freedom, and the process by which we work to make RPGs. They have been fantastic partners, and we are extremely excited to work with them through release, to put what we know is going to be an amazing game into as many hands as possible."

This shows that the root idea on which Private Division was made holds true.
