Shadow of Tomb Raider Runs At 4K/30FPS and 1080p/60FPS On Xbox One X

Eidos Montreal has clarified that Shadow of the Tomb Raider offers 2 Graphical Mode on Xbox One X – 4K/30FPS and 1080p/60FPS. This clarification came after there were reports on the internet that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will run at 4K/60FPS on Xbox One X.

Eidos Montreal, the developer behind the upcoming Tomb Raider video game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, has revealed the Resolution/FPS at which the game is going to run on Microsoft’s Xbox One X. Speaking to our friend at Electric Playground (Video Interview which you can video below), Eidos Montreal Head David Anfossi revealed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will run at 4K/60FPS on Xbox One X. However, Anfossi didn’t reveal whether this 4K is going to be a NATIVE or checkerboard. Also, and whether the 60FPS figure is going to be locked or unlocked? It seems like we have to wait a bit longer to get that information from Eidos Montreal (possibly after E3 2018).

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox One X Resolution And FPS Revealed

David Anfossi further revealed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is going to feature a new rendering and lighting system to make full use of the Xbox One X potential. He then assured PlayStation and PC gaming community that the development team is optimizing the game for all platforms.

It would be interesting to see how well Eidos Montreal is going to handle the Tomb Raider video game brand – the previous two games were developed by Crystal Dynamics, they are now working on a Square Enix’s Avengers Project.

This is what the official description of Shadow of the Tomb Raider reads on game’s official website: “Experience Lara Croft‘s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will ultimately be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.”

UPDATE

There has been a big miscommunication – Square Enix has just issued a clarification via our friend at WindowsCentral that Shadow of the Tomb Raider won’t run at 4K/60FPS on Xbox One X. Instead, there will be two graphical options available for the players on Xbox One X (like in the case of Rise of the Tomb Raider). Xbox One X owners will be able to choose either to play the game at 4K/30FPS or at 1080p/60FPS.
