The announcement was quite anticipated and now the wait is (almost) over: The Master Chief Collection is dropping with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 on Microsoft’s subscription service.
Thanks to the latest update, all the titles will run at 4K and 60 frames per second with HDR support on Xbox One X, and will feature an intelligent delivery system that allows you to select the specific titles to install from the compilation. Also, there’ll be matchmaking improvements across the board.
The collection originally released in 2014 for Xbox One and, despite featuring a lot of great games all Xbox users have fond memories of, was quite disappointing in terms of quality, for what matters multiplayer.
In more Xbox Game Pass news, Microsoft revealed a brand new mobile app entirely focused on the service for iOS and Android devices. The application lets you check the latest entries and the status of your downloads from the service.
There’s a beta you can apply to on iPhone and iPad, while more information about the Android client will come soon. More September Xbox Game Pass games, in the meantime, will be revealed in a matter of days.
