A bit surprisingly, Rare has announced a short delay for Sea of Thieves’ latest expansion Forsaken Shores, which is supposed to be adding a brand new volcanic location (Devil’s Roar) and several features for Windows 10 and Xbox One users.
The expansion was expected to drop on September 19, 2018 but it’ll take a little more time because of the crashes found out all over the last weekend of internal playtesting, which suggested the developer should’ve taken more time to do things better.
“We appreciate your understanding with this change in our release plans. I know this will be disappointing, but I resolutely believe this is the right decision,” said the British developer.
“We are committed to giving everyone the best Forsaken Shores release experience, and this will enable that.”
“Thanks to all of our Pioneers for their support in providing valuable feedback and bug reports on Forsaken Shores so far.
Alongside helping us gain confidence in the release from a stability perspective, we have been able to make significant tweaks to the gameplay experience as a result of the feedback we’ve received, and it is better for it.”
The new release date is fixed at September 27, 2018, so it’s just a couple weeks more to wait in order to give the dev team more time to get the content as polished as possible before launch.
