Now that Destiny 2 is coming to the PC exclusively on Blizzard's Battle.net app, some fans have been wondering about potential crossovers between Bungie's FPS and other games on the service.
One game that seems like a natural fit for crossover is Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's MOBA that features characters across numerous games, like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and StarCraft. Why not Destiny, too?
Alan Dabiri, game director of Heroes, was asked by PCGamesN about the possibility of Destiny characters coming to Heroes one day.
“I don’t know," said Dabiri. "That’s something where, when we actually get to that point, we’d have to talk about whether that’s appropriate for Heroes and for a Blizzard game. Right now it’s not something we’re looking at but we haven’t even really thought about it that much, we haven’t really discussed it.”
Dabiri refused to rule out a potential collaboration in the future, even though he confirmed that there have been no talks about it just yet.
“I don’t know if we’re in a place right now where we’re really motivated to dive outside of the Blizzard universes," he said. "You never know in the future but right now we’re just focused on the Blizzard franchises.”
It would be pretty cool to see characters like Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, Cayde-6, or even villains like Oryx and Atheon, appear alongside Blizzard mainstays like Diablo and Raynor.
It may seem improbable, but until further notice, let's just call it possible.
