Bungie has revealed more information about Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris DLC in a new livestream today.
One of the focal points of the stream was gameplay of a new Public Event in the new patrol area on Mercury called "Vex Crossroads." This Public Event was larger, longer, and more elaborate than most in the game.
To progress in the event, numerous Gatekeepers will spawn. Once they are killed, the drop keys that must be used to open doors and travel all around the area. When the Heroic version of the event is triggered (Bungie did not reveal how to do so), a massive Gate Lord boss spawns.
The boss fight includes additional enemies spawning while fighting the huge enemy, who will also periodically gain a shield. When the shield generates, another Gatekeeper will spawn, and the keys that they drop will be used to take down the Gate Lord's shield so you can deal damage again. When the event is completed, two chests will spawn and reward you with more tokens and gear than usual.
Curse of Osiris will have two Strikes as well, but they're a bit different. The Strikes are actually story missions as part of the DLC's campaign, but they become more traditional co-op Strikes better tailored for three-man fireteams and placed in the Strike playlist once they're completed.
The stream closed out with a new Adventure played in the Infinite Forest area of Mercury, which is a Vex simulation that will offer more replayability due to encounters and landscapes being different each time.
Curse of Osiris launches in Destiny 2 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Dec. 5.
