Pillars of Eternity fans will have to wait a little longer for the game’s long-awaited sequel. Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has been pushed back by one month on PC.

Originally, Pillars of Eternity 2 was planned for April 3 on PC, right after Easter. Instead, the game will come out on May 8. Obsidian Entertainment blames the game’s sheer size, pointing out that the team wants to make sure the entire game receives the polish it needs before launch.

“Obsidian has been working harder than Abydon himself to make every inch of [Pillars of Eternity 2] awesome, as well as incorporating all the great feedback we have been getting from everyone playing the backer beta,” Obsidian told Eurogamer. “With this in mind, we are taking just a few extra weeks to polish and put those finishing touches on the game.”

Alongside Pillars of Eternity 2’s PC version, the game is also coming out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in late 2018. It’s unclear if the delay will impact the game’s console releases, but no release date has been announced for all three versions as of yet.
