Rumor Claims Capcom Has an Unannounced Action-Adventure Title for E3 2018

Capcom may reveal an unannounced action-adventure game for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at E3 2018, one rumor claims.

Capcom’s E3 2018 listing is already live, and the Japanese gaming publisher and developer has an action-adventure game listed for three consoles: Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One. But fans aren’t sure what exactly that game will be—and if they’re even the same game.

The news first came from a thread on Reset Era after one user spotted Capcom’s E3 2018 products, which include the action-adventure game as well as a fighting/wrestling title for PC and Sony PlayStation 4. Reset Era users suspect the fighting game is Street Fighter V, but the company’s action-adventure title remains a mystery—especially because the game is supposedly being showcased only for Switch, Xbox, and PC.

While the listing remains a rumor for now, there’s a couple explanations as to what it could be. For one, the action-adventure products may not be the same game. In reality, Capcom may be advertising two separate action-adventure games, one on Switch and another for PC and Xbox One. Alternatively, the listing could be an error, which is somewhat likely if Capcom plans to show off a cross-platform title on both the Switch and Xbox One.

Then again, the action-adventure title may be a previously unannounced title for all three systems. It could also be a rerelease for a Capcom action-adventure title, like Dead Rising 2. It’s hard to tell for now, in part because each circumstance sounds likely enough. But it’s pretty clear the game in question isn’t Mega Man 11, as that game is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4 alongside Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Either way, fans will just have to wait and see what happens once E3 2018 begins on June 12. For more information on the expo, check out The OP’s guide to the show here.
