Niantic's latest Pokémon Go Community Day is coming next month, and it's going to feature a new Pokémon for everyone to run out and capture. This July, none other than the adorable water starter Squirtle will be appearing as part of the event.
On Sunday, July 8 at 5pm ET, you'll be able to get out of the house and go Squirtle chasing, as the Pokémon will only be available out in the wild for a short time. As usual, Squirtle will be available with a special, previously unavailable move you can learn during the event. You must make sure you catch or evolve Squirtle during Community Day hours to get in on the fun with the new move, though.
Niantic hasn't announced what Squirtle's new move will be, but we should be hearing more about that as we get closer to the event. This marks all three original starter Pokémon as part of the Pokémon Go Community Day events, as previously Charmander and Bulbasaur were chosen for the spotlight.
If you're thinking about getting back into Pokémon Go now that trading is finally coming to the game, it might be a good idea to get out there and secure some Squirtles, especially ones with new moves, for some awesome trades later on down the line. Plus, it's good to get out and get some sunshine and fresh air, too.
Looking forward to hanging out with other trainers next month? There are more Community Days coming in the future, so keep an eye out on the official Pokémon Go Twitter account for announcements about when you can catch them. We'll keep you posted, too.
