Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night E3 demo now available for some Kickstarter backers
ArtPlay and 505 Games have released a new beta demo for certain Kickstarter backers of Koji Igarashi's upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
The $60 and above tiers will have access to the PC preview which is chock-full of new enemies and NPCs, and some of the game's quests are available to complete.
This is the same demo that was shown off during E3 2018, taking players out to sail a ship out on choppy seas during severe storms, through a village, into a castle, and plenty of other locations along the way. The demo will also feature crafting and alchemy with shopkeeper and exorcist Dominique, who can help players remain well-stocked on items that can help keep them alive during their blood-soaked journey.
A new trailer was released in conjunction with the demo that offers a glimpse of what's to come from Igarashi's spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's a jam-packed bit of footage that highlights some of what you can see in the new build, and it looks like a real treat for Castlevania fans.
Bloodstained follows a protagonist named Miriam throughout her journey to break a demonic curse placed on her by an alchemist. Her skin is slowly turning to crystal, and eventually forces her into a coma. When she awakens ten years later after the coma has ravaged her body she discovers a massive castle, with Hell having been resurrected. It's her job to travel to the castle and kill off the summoner Gebel as she searches for a way to finally stop the curse.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming to PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. It's targeting a 2018 release date, but there isn't a firm day set just yet.
