PlayStation Classic Hides References To 36 More PS1 Games

Exactly like the original model, PlayStation Classic is pretty easy to look into the source code and possibly hack.

While we're not keen to hacking, what's inside the code is rather interesting, because it reveals the existence of games that were basically cut from the list of those actually featured in the console.

From the looks of it, those games - 36, it seems - were tested in an early stage of the work on the console.

For some reason, most probably for their weight (the console has 16GB of storage, those titles would have required an additional 10GB), Sony was forced not to include them eventually.

That's a shame because many of the games included in this list of the cut ones were among the most desired by the players, like Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer, Fighting Force, MediEvil, and Driver.

Here's the full list as shared by a Twitter user:

  • Chocobo’s Mysterious Dungeon
  • Colin McRae Rally
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Crash Bandicoot 2
  • Toy Story 2
  • Driver
  • Ehrgeiz
  • Fighting Force
  • Gran Turismo
  • GTA 2
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
  • Kagero
  • Klonoa
  • Kula World
  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
  • Medal of Honor
  • MediEvil
  • Mega Man Legends
  • Mr. Driller G
  • Paca Paca Passion
  • PaRappa the Rapper
  • Parasite Eve
  • RayStorm
  • Ridge Racer
  • Silent Hill
  • Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3
  • Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha

  • Tomb Raider
  • Tomb Raider 2
  • Tomba
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
  • Vagrant Story
  • Wild Arms 2
  • Xevious 3D/G+

You can check the 20 games that actually were introduced as part of the lineup in the PlayStation Classic shipped to stores.

I won't even ask your opinion this time around, since I already know what you think about these games not being added to the console's library. I know.
