Also, the patch notes also mention that there are bug fixes, but again specific details on which bugs and issues have been fixed were not provided. In simple term, it’s up to the community to find out exactly what changes Nintendo has made to the game with Patch 1.2.0.

The one thing that we do know via Patch Notes is that the online part has received the much-needed improvement. Nintendo has provided a boost to the Quickplay matchmaking which means there is a higher chance that you will land into a match with other players with the same rule-set (Preferred Rules), but it is not guaranteed. You can read the official Patch Notes below.

  • Adjusted difficulty of new challenges.

Online Gameplay

  • When matchmaking in Quickplay, the setting of your Preferred Rules will be more highly prioritized. This may cause matchmaking to take more time, and there’s still no guarantee that you’ll find a match with your exact preferred rules, however.
  • Increased stability in Battle Arenas.

Fighter Adjustments

  • Donkey Kong, Link, Kirby, Luigi, Ice Climbers, Young Link, Olimar, Toon Link, Villager, Greninja, PAC-MAN, Duck Hunt, and Isabelle have all been changed in some way.

General

  • Game Balance adjustments
  • Bug fixes
  • Old replays made before Patch 1.2.0 are no longer compatible with the new version of the game.
