On December 11, Capcom released a new patch for Street Fighter V which introduced in-game ads i.e. players were greeted with an in-game advertisements at the loading screens, character models, and stages. Although, Capcom provided an option to the players to toggle off the in-game ads, but the move to add the in-game ads in the first place did not go down too well with the fans and they criticised this move on various social media websites.

Street Fighter V Dev Responds To In-Game Ads Criticism

Street Fighter Executive Producer Yoshinori Ono has responded to the criticism and it seems like the in-game ads are here to stay and Capcom will just make a slight adjustment to its current working in the game. Yoshinori Ono wrote on Twitter: “We value and thank our community for providing feedback on the new sponsored content feature added to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition this week. We will continue collecting everyone’s feedback to consider how we can improve this new feature for players in the future”.

It’s not like Capcom has added in-game adds to Street Fighter V without offering any incentives to players who view or watch it, players who watch or view the ads get some Fight Money which is the in-game currency. Currently, the ads that are up and running in-game are Capcom Pro Tour Series and Sales Ad for the extra in-game content.
