The Division - Free "Resistance" Update 1.8 Adds New Map Area
Ubisoft has announced that The Division‘s Update 1.8 will be released for free on all platforms this fall. This update will be the game’s largest to date, containing two new modes; the Resistance PVE mode and Skirmish PVP mode. Also included are a West Side Pier map expansion spread across two zones. This will be open for all players and features a new Camp Clinton social space where players can gear up and meet up with other Agents.
The Resistance PvE mode appears to be The Division‘s version of a horde mode. Players will team up with up to three other Division Agents to survive the onslaught of three factions of enemies that have united for the sole purpose of stomping you out. Rewards are promised to those that survive.
The Skirmish PvP mode, on the other hand, pits two teams of four players against each other to score the highest number of kills before the timer runs out.
The 1.8 update also brings other tweaks and changes to the gear system, the Underground DLC, and rogue mechanics.
Frankly, it’s been a while since we’ve visited New York, but the new area featuring a docked aircraft carrier is definitely enticing. We look forward to checking it out soon. If you can’t wait, Ubisoft appears set to show more details of the 1.8 Update on August 31st at 8:00AM PDT on their Twitch channel.
