If a giant robot is knocked over in a huge city, and nobody is around to hear it fall, does it still make a sound? The answer is yes because the laws of physics don’t change just because nobody is there to witness things happen. You also have to wonder, who would miss out on the chance to see a massive robot flatten a city? What about four robots, and they are all fighting? Yeah, that one got your interest.

Override is an upcoming singleplayer and multiplayer brawler that features giant robots scrapping it out in a city. It is one of the most iconic images in science fiction, and now it is a game. Developed by The Balance Inc, and published by Modus Games, the announcement trailer dropped today.

Pilot a diverse roster of epic, skyscraper-sized mechs, each with their own play style, special moves, and finishers. Tower over your opponents and lay waste to entire cities underfoot. Destroy 3D arenas modeled after actual cities and countries, including Tokyo, Egypt, San Francisco, and Mexico. Challenge other players, gathering two to four friends to engage in dynamic co-op where each player is responsible for one part of a towering mech! Customize your mechs in the Garage, changing their accessories and skins to create your own unique style!

I must confess, I am interested. I like the art style, and I like the concept. I also like the split-screen modes and the mode where four people control a single robot, which is certain to be hilarious. I also really like that the developers have put in the effort to provide both online and offline co-op and multiplayer content. Override will release on December 4 and will be available on Steam for PC folk, as well as PS4 and Xbox One.
