Nintendo Details Shigeru Miyamoto's Role In The Company

In an interesting interview posted over at The Guardian, we learn more details about Shigeru Miyamoto's current role in Nintendo.

Also, we can see more about the way he works together with younger staffers at Nintendo and what he brings in based on his experience.

"He is not involved in the minute details of development, but does oversee entire projects and identifies major issues: this part is bad, this part is bad, THIS part is bad…" said Shinya Takahashi with a laugh.

"If he says something’s good, it’s rare, and you know it is. He’s actually a shy person – even when he thinks something is well done, he would not often say that to someone directly."

Hisashi Nogami added another fun tip about the way Miyamoto works together with younger, never complimenting them but praising what they do afterwards.

Officially, the creator of Mario currently serves as a creative lead for all the efforts from the company, something he's been doing since 2015.

So this is the main reason why he has a say about everything coming from the Japanese platform owner and software house.

It's a rather interesting depiction, which comes particular handy in understanding how Nintendo is going to move on after the end of the Iwata era and Reggie Fils-Aimé leaving NoA.
