Xbox Live On Nintendo Switch? "No Specific Announcements" Now

We've already reported about Xbox Live coming to iOS and Android devices, and Microsoft's plans to bring the network on other platforms.

Anyway, those platforms don't include Nintendo Switch, which at a certain point was rumored to be coming to the lot also featuring Xbox Game Pass and xCloud.

Kareem Choudhry, head of cloud gaming at Microsoft, said the door is not closed, but that the company doesn't have "specific announcements" to make right now.

"Our goal is to really unite the 2 billion gamers of the world and we’re big fans of our Xbox Live community, but we don’t have any specific announcements as it relates to Switch today," said Choudhry.

"If you’ve watched us for the past few years, we’ve taken a very inclusive approach. Phil [Spencer] has been very proactive on issues like crossplay, cross-progression, and uniting gamer networks, and we’re willing to partner with the industry as much as we possibly can."

It's interesting to note that this sudden stop comes after so many rumors of Microsoft trying to talk to Nintendo about Xbox Live's implementation on Switch.

So, there's a chance the parts are still discussing the matter and that we could learn more in time for E3 2019 or slightly later.
