Get Free Borderlands 3 Loot With The Vault Insider Program

Borderlands 3 loot is up for grabs with the Vault Insider Program. You can basically get rewards for opting in to being marketed to.

Borderlands 3 is all about loot, so it makes a bit of sense that Gearbox is offering free Borderlands 3 loot to people who sign up for the Vault Insider Program. It is a little odd to incentivize people who were already going to watch advertisements to watch them, but it has been a little while since I was involved in marketing, so maybe the rules have changed.

All you need to do is sign up to the Vault Insiders Program, engage with the Borderlands marketing machine by watching trailers, reading articles, and linking various accounts, and you will earn points. You can then use these points to claim skins, and items, for the Borderlands game of your choosing.

For signing up, you can claim a Borderlands 3 Welcome Pack that contains high rarity grenade and shield mods, and a VIP weapon trinket. These items will unlock when you start playing Borderlands 3 after it releases in September. You can also earn points for getting friends to sign up, and being a good little spreader of the message for Gearbox’s upcoming game.

It does make a lot of sense to do this, being fair to Gearbox. The Borderlands fan base is rather passionate about the game, and engagement tends to grow engagement in an algorithm-driven world. People who are confident they might buy the game will not always engage with things like articles and trailers. Good traffic on articles about your game means more articles about your game, while good views on trailers means they land in relevant sites “recommended” lists and are more likely to be shown to users. It is a system that feeds itself, so it certainly does make a lot of sense, my earlier jokes aside.
