Star Wars Battlefront 2 Roadmap for Fall 2019 Details Clone Commando and More
Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans have plenty to look forward to as the developers at DICE have unveiled the latest roadmap showing what's going on for the rest of the year. The developers list out what players can expect for the rest of August, September, and what's going to happen through the end of December. One of the big things players can get excited about is the addition of the Clone Commando unit.
For the rest of August, players can check how fighting inside the capital ships during Capital Supremacy has changed. One of the significant changes is that everything inside the capital ship happens based on a timer. The attackers do not return to the ground-based on unit tickets.
When players first breach the ship, they have five minutes to destroy before going back to the ground to fight. One of the two Commando Posts needs to be captured to destroy the ship. Once one of the Command Posts are captured, the assaulting side gains another five minutes to target the enemy target inside the ship. The damage remains throughout the rest of the game, even if the attacking team return to the ground and have to attack the target all over again.
Additionally, the B1 droids are gaining additional appearance options. The new appearance colors are called Pilot, Jungle, and Training. All of them are available for the four Separatist classes, as long as it's for the B1 unit droids.
All of the above should release on Aug. 28.
Going into September, Felucia should release for players to jump into and immediately enjoy. The planet was built with the new Capital Supremacy game mode in mind, giving players the most diversity during combat to traverse the map. Felucia contains numerous, iconic locations that include numerous inspirations from the Clone Wars television show and the brief appearance it had in Revenge of the Sith. There are even remnants of a Sarlacc somewhere on the map.
Last, but certainly not least, is the addition of the Clone Commando unit. The developers are leaning heavily on the source material, which is the Republic Commando game that released in 2005. The Commando unit carries the same DC-17m Repeating Blaster Rifle, and their abilities reflect the diversity of their primary weapon. The left ability is the Anti-Armor attachment the command slaps on their blaster rifle. The right ability is a Repulsor Blast that delivers a shockwave within a short distance in front of them. The Commando's middle ability is Battle Focus, where the Commando emits a damage protection aura around it to protect allies. Any damage the Commando does to enemies during this time, heals them.
The developers at DICE mainly focused on what's happening for August and September. Fans still have the rest of the year to look forward to, with the addition of Rise of the Skywalker content later in the year before the movie releases on Dec. 20.
