Risk of Rain 2 has just been announced for the PS4 and Xbox One, and is available today!
Great news for owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today, as the smash-hit from Hopoo Games, Risk of Rain 2, is now officially available on both consoles. The game appeared on the Nintendo Switch earlier today. However, it seems that this was a little bit of a premature release, as I assume that all three storefronts were meant to go live at the same time.
Risk of Rain 2 takes the cult classic gameplay of the first game and brings it into three dimensions, resulting in a frantic fight for survival against hordes of enemies and an endless sequence of hostile environments. The rogue-like gameplay pits players against a continuous wave of enemies, and the difficulty slowly increases as time goes on.
It is up to you to find the teleporter in each level and escape to the next location, collecting items and power-ups along the way. You will also need to take out a powerful boss before you can leave. There are plenty of secrets in this game, meaning you need to explore every level. Also, it is possible to work together to ensure that people are getting the best possible builds from the items that drop, despite the randomness of it.
The seven different Survivors all have a unique style of play to them with more on the way. Right now, the game is in early access, but the developers are hard at work to bring it into a full release sometime in the next year.
The game was a massive hit on PC, rapidly racking up a million sales on Steam. The developers have been working hard to bring new content to the game, and the game to new platforms. Well, today is the day it all pays off, as millions of gamers get to enjoy this fantastic title.
