This time around, anyway, it looks like something more was included in the game by mistake. The title consists of boosters that were supposed to be released only in the post-launch period. However, they instead came out upon day one.
Of course, the community read in that some pay to win mechanic and was highly disappointed, so Ubisoft had to issue a note to explain what happened before removing the microtransactions in question.
“We are aware that during the Early Access of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint on October 1st, some Time-Savers items (Skill Point bundles, XP Boosters, parts bundles for advanced weapon upgrades) were available for purchase for a few hours in our Store but this was not our intention and was an error on our behalf,” said Ubisoft, via USGamer.
“These items were designed as an optional way for players arriving later to the game (Post-Launch) to catch up with those who have been playing for longer and enjoy our co-op and challenging end-game experiences. These Time-Savers have since been removed from our Store for now.”
Luckily enough, Ghost Recon Breakpoint turns out being a somewhat balanced game, and something you can enjoy with your friends, as we noted in our review.
