When Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launched earlier this year, many gamers applauded it for being very close in spirit to the classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. However, Nintendo Switch owners weren’t so thrilled, as that version was hit with several performance issues. But today, consider them a thing of the past.
The development team took to the official Bloodstained blog today to announced that the long-awaited patch for the Switch version has gone live. Players can update their game the next time they start it up.
Along with releasing a humorous new trailer suggesting the patch wouldn’t release until 2025, the team addressed what changes were made.
First up, the input lag issue has been eliminated. “You will find the controls more responsive, making the game easier to navigate and enemies easier to fight. There are still a few areas that need optimizing that will be included in update 1.04,” it explained.
It also noted that “visual quality” has been upped across the board, so the game looks better than ever on the Switch.
It also addressed “overall stability,” which “has been improved throughout the game. We have addressed several specific situations that have been causing crashes, most notably when reading books from a bookcase.” On top of that, loading times are much, much better than before.
There’s no word on when to expect this upcoming update 1.04, but it shouldn’t be too far off. Breathe easy, Switch owners — it’s time to enjoy your game again!
