For the past few days, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have received many nasty and unwanted FLACK from PlayStation Community after it was discovered that the much talked about PS4’s “Share Play” feature has been deliberately disabled for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (as officially confirmed by Sony in a statement to CVG).
Want to know why Activision went for a decision of disablig Share Play feature for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? read the response Activision representative provided to our friend at GameZone:
“Share Play is a new feature that was introduced as part of the recent PS4 firmware 2.00 update. Our engineers didn’t have access to it before it launched, so we haven’t had a chance to evaluate it to see how it will impact the experience across all modes of play,”
“Of course we wouldn’t include a feature in our game without having the chance to test it. Once we’ve fully analyzed its performance, we’ll determine how to support it going forward.”
So there you have it folks, lack of time to test the feature properly is the reason. This means Activision is still open to idea of Share Play on PlayStation 4, and might include them in future in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (via Patch) and their other upcoming games.
