Playstation firmware 1.7 which was released yesterday included some hidden features, we covered most of them in on previous coverage but missed this one: the update also added mic sensitivity feature quietly and it was not mention in the patch note and neither Sony utter a word about it.
One user of Playstation Blog said: “Playstation 4 firmware 1.70 added mic sensitivity feature for those with Mic’s that made thier chats very uncomfortable to their Friends ears. You either sounded too loud (Example Astro A40’s) that required you to move the mic totally away from your mouth or too soft (Example : Skullcandy PLYR1’s) that required a Turtle Beach cord to improve sensitivity. Well no more”
“To know how to fix this problem, go into your PS4’s Setting’s, then Device Settings, then Audio Device Settings , and Finally Microphone Level Settings. You should be greeted by this new menu:”
Here is the screenshot detailing this very feature of Playstation 4 firmware 1.70
