Ubisoft has officially confirmed that their upcoming open world action hacking title “Watch Dogs” will require Uplay for PC as well as for Steam. This will not go down too well with PC gaming community.
In a recent interview to IGN, Ubisoft spokeperson stated: “Like some of our other AAA releases, including Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. Watch Dogs will be available on Steam and will leverage Uplay to support the games services.”
So it seems like PC gamers don’t have any other place to go apart from Uplay to play Watch Dogs. The game is scheduled to launch on May 27 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
These negative attention/marketing will definitely hurt the sales of Watch Dogs, now the only way to overcome it is make Watch Dogs an unforgettable gaming experience. Whether Ubisoft will succeed or not only time will tell.
