Armored Core isn’t exactly a series that’s flourishing at the moment, especially when you consider the fact that there hasn’t been a release in four years. But developer From Software’s Yasunori Ogura wants to assure fans that it’s not the end for the series as we know it.
“Thank you for watching the Armored Core 20th anniversary music special program!” Ogura tweeted following an Armored Core broadcast earlier today. “While I cannot discuss anything right now, we have no intention of ending the Armored Core series in its current state, so I would appreciate it if you can wait a little while longer.”
Ogura didn’t specify exactly what kind of games might be coming in the future to appease Armored Core fans, but he did announce in a follow-up tweet that there’s a new Armored Core 20th Anniversary theme coming to the Japanese PlayStation Store tomorrow. It seems the waters are still very quiet in terms of what this series will bring to the table soon, but an announcement could always spur at any time from tweets like these. It might be wise for fans to keep their eyes open in the coming weeks, especially with all the surprise announcements and remakes we’ve had in the last year or so.
