The latest installment in Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 4 makes use of 90-95% of CPU power on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, according to Technical Director on Frostbite Johan Andersson.
Johan explained that Battlefield utilize 90-95% of the 6 parallel CPU cores available to developers on the Octa-core AMD Jaguar that powers both PS4 and Xbox One.
NOTE: AMD Jaguar CPU has 8 parallel cores, 2 of them are reserved for Operating System functions on both PS4 and Xbox One.
In a recent Q&A session with developers on AMD Mantle, Johan Andersson said that DICE has been working closely on developement for PS4 and Xbox One with an aim to optimize CPU performance and achieve 64 players at 60fps goal in Battlefield 4, and this has led to utilization of 90-95% CPU on next-gen consoles.
