Star Wars: Battlefront II, the biggest first-person shooter of 2017 is finally out on retail shelves across the globe. There is no doubt that the massive fan backlash against the inclusion of Pay-To-Win microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront II has been the talk of the town for a while now and it has done a lot of damage to all the stakeholders – EA, Star Wars video game series, Disney, and others. Just for a moment let’s keep this controversial thing aside and take a look at how Star Wars Battlefront II performs on PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC. Our friend at Digital Foundry has just shared a new video that compares the performance of Frostbite Engine (the tech DICE used for the development of Star Wars Battlefront II) on PC, Xbox One X, and PC.
According to the details shared by Digital Foundry, Star Wars Battlefront II runs at the dynamic resolution on both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. The game runs at 1440p on PlayStation 4 Pro, and at 2160p i.e. 4K resolution on Xbox One X. However, Star Wars Battlefront II Xbox One X has a massive image quality boost over PlayStation 4 Pro version.
When it comes to the performance of FPS, it is smooth and stable 60FPS across both consoles, but PlayStation 4 Pro hits the 60FPS target more often. You guys can go through the full analysis in the video below.
It’s good to see that DICE managed to achieve a top-quality experience on both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. It is indeed one of the best FPS shooting game available right now in the market, but there are hardly any takers because of the negative early review and fans outrage against loot boxes and microtransactions.
