Everyone’s favorite Umbra Witch stole the show during The Game Awards 2017, with Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime on hand to announce an upcoming entry in the Bayonetta series. Bayonetta 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive.
There wasn’t much to go on in terms of plot, or pretty much anything at all with the teaser trailer shown during the presentation, but it’s good to see Bayonetta bringing her stylish brand of action back to a Nintendo console, especially after Bayonetta 2 made its home on the Nintendo Wii U. It felt fantastic played on the touchscreen and with a Pro Controller, so it should feel even better with Joy-Cons, or at the very least we can assume.
Bayonetta 3 isn’t the only part of the series to make a new home on the Switch, however. Fils-Aime led into the big Bayonetta 3 announcement by letting slip that the first two games, Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2, would be heading to the Switch as well. Both titles will be available, though Bayonetta 2 is getting a physical cartridge with an in-box download for the original game.
It’s a great time to dig into these games again, with a new adventure on the horizon, and if you’ve never played any of them, you’re missing out on one of the most entertaining and challenging platforming/hack-and-slash titles out there. Let’s dance, boys!
