BioWare has been pretty reluctant in offering new details and gameplay videos about Mass Effect Andromeda, and this is constantly making long time supporters anxious. Anyway, it seems we don’t have much to worry about, at least this is what EA Games Patrick Soderlund thinks right now.
“I just came back from a short vacation and I played through the first three hours of the game. It’s very playable, and there is no alarm about, ‘Why aren’t they showing it?’ It’s strictly that the game will get the right type of exposure at the right time,” he reported during an interview released to Game Informer during Gamescom 2016.
Moreover, he said we should finally expect more details about Mass Effect Andromeda after other EA “big titles” ship between October and December. So, at the moment, it doesn’t seem like we should hold our breath and wait for something like new gameplay videos and release date tips.
It’s releasing in early 2017, even though a few tips are letting us guess it could be delayed sometime by the end of this year. Apart from simply looking at the very few info unleashed so far, more hints about a possible PS4/Xbox One Mass Effect trilogy remaster have been provided throughout Gamescom, so it looks like Electronic Arts could push for a collection in Fall/Winter and have Andromeda releasing later in 2017.
So far, these are only speculations and ideas coming from EA’s public behavior. We’ll see in the mid-term future if more details, release dates and videos are truly coming later this year.
