Capcom comments on Why Resident Evil Revelations is not coming to PS VITA

Recently Capcom announced Resident Evil: Revelations Unveiled Edition for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, once noticeably thing missing from the platform list was PS VITA.

Resident Evil: RevelationsResident Evil: Revelations was originally a 3DS exclusive game (handheld), so port it PS VITA would be more easy task for Capcom, however the development team had some other opinion, and here is the reason why Resident Evil: Revelation isn’t coming to PS VITA.

Mike Lunn, Product Manager at Capcom explained, “when we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent.”

He further added, “3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions.”

There you have it folks, this is why Resident Evil: Revelations is not coming to PS VITA.

On PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, Resident Evil Revelations will feature new content, HD visuals, and more. It will launch on May 21.
