It’s Xursday! Let’s see what the tentacle faced git has in his inventory today.
This week he can be found near the the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. You can find him by checking the planets in your Director and a green symbol will show you where he is. Just load into the nearest fast travel point and bring up your Ghost. The same green symbol will again show you his location.
At the moment, he just sells four Exotic items, one weapon and an armour piece for each class. The Exotic Engrams, sparrow enhancements and other items all seem to be a thing of the past.
Xur also accepts Legendary Shards as payment now, appearing to have moved on from his desire for Strange Coins. Legendary shards can be gotten by breaking down Legendary Weapons. You may also get them from various Vendors in the game if you are lucky.
This week Xur is selling the following:
The Prospector – Exotic Grenade Launcher (29 Shards)
Foetracer – Hunter Helmet (23 Shards)
An Insurmountable Skullfort – Titan Helmet (23 Shards)
Eye Of Another World – Warlock Helmet (23 Shards)
This week’s must buy, in my opinion, is The Prospector. I still feel people are sleeping on just how useful a Grenade Launcher can be in the game, and the Prospector is top of the class. With eight grenades in its rather rotund chambers, and the ability to fire full-auto, this thing will melt enemies. I’m a big fan of it for killing off Bathers and Royal Hounds in the Raid. A double burst will also destroy a Lantern in the Bathing Pools. It takes a single full burst to melt the Thresher during the Cabal Mining public event and it will do intense damage to the Blight on the Taken public event as well. It’s just a good time all around.
Foetracer is a bit of a miss for the Hunter class, there are better Exotics out there depending on your subclass. I quite like the Insurmountable Skullfort on my Titan as I run the Striker class predominantly. I like to run the Riskrunner and use my own grenades to proc it when I need to, so I tend to be up close to enemies. Being able to rapidly reposition by using my melee, which will then instantly return if I kill the target, helps keep me safe.
Eye of Another World is not a bad choice for Warlocks who find themselves switching Subclass a lot. You can pump some Light into it and it will always be useful to you. That is it for Xur’s Exotic Emporium this week, what has caught your eye?
