The official reveal of Destiny: Rise of Iron will take place later today, but someone at Bungie seems to have to pull the trigger a bit too early and has leaked the trailer and some of the key features of the DLC. Destiny: Rise of Iron will launch on September 20 for PS4 and Xbox One. There was no word on whether the DLC will launch on last-gen consoles, it seems like Bungie has finally decided to skip the last-gen release.
Some of the features Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion will offer are:
- New Story Campaign & Quests
- New Armour and Gear
- New Weapons
- New Raid
- Maximum Light Increase
- New Strike
- New Plaguelands Zone & Social Space
- New Crucible Mode & Maps
- New Enemy Faction and Bosses
The official Xbox website describes the Rise of Iron DLC as follows:
“Destiny: Rise of Iron is the next highly anticipated expansion to the Destiny universe. The wall which stood for centuries along the southern border of Old Russia has collapsed. Fallen mutants now scavenge the tombs of the Golden Age, and the plague they have unearthed is more dangerous than even they understand. Join Lord Saladin. Journey into the Plaguelands. Learn the fate of the Iron Lords and stop the growing threat before it is too late.”
And here is what the synopsis of the DLC reads in the description section of the trailer:
We thought we were indestructible, The Lords of Iron. We swore we would do anything to protect the Last City. Some of us paid the ultimate price. I am all that remains. We thought we had sealed away The Plague for eternity. But now it has returned, and this time with a Fallen Army! It is time to avenge my brothers and sisters. Stand with me guardian, prove yourself worthy, and the Iron Lords will rise again
Last but not the least, at the end of the trailer Bungie announce that players who will pre-order Destiny: Rise of Iron will get Iron Gjallarhorn weapon as a pre-order bonus.
