Dishonored 2 reviews will not be available before game’s official launch, as per the details officially confirmed by Bethesda’s Gary Steinman. In a post on game’s official blog, Gary provided the example of DOOM (2016) and stated that the review copies of it were sent a day before launch, and this decision did raise a question mark on the quality of the game, but DOOM is now a critical and big commercial hit of 2016. Gary later added that they will be following this same policy for Dishonored 2 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
“With the upcoming launches of Skyrim Special Edition and Dishonored 2, we will continue our policy of sending media review copies one day before release,” Steinman continues. “While we will continue to work with media, streamers, and YouTubers to support their coverage — both before and after release — we want everyone, including those in the media, to experience our games at the same time.”
Some of you might be of the opinion that Bethesda is going for your money, but to tell you the truth this is not exactly the case as Gary Steinman added in the blog post that the players who want to wait for reviews can do so.
“We also understand that some of you want to read reviews before you make your decision and if that’s the case we encourage you to wait for your favorite reviewers to share their thoughts.”
