The Chinese Room’s latest title, the PlayStation 4 exclusive game Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, could be finally coming to the PC platform as well. We’ll call it a rumor for now, but it seems the first person adventure is already in the Steam database, which could possibly mean the PC release is not so far away.
To be honest, it could also be a leftover from the times The Chinese Room was working on the PC version of Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, right before Sony approached the developer to make it work exclusively on PlayStation 4. But that wouldn’t explain why the Steam application has been updated on January 8, 2016.
According to SteamDB, yesterday someone from the software house used the game to make some beta testing on Valve’s platform and the “Developer Comp”. If the game is really already in beta, we could even think about it releasing in February or March for PC, as beta is the last stage for a title before reaching the Gold stage and release a couple weeks later.
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture could be the second Sony published game to release on Steam, after Helldivers – an isometric shooter which was first thought to be a PS4 exclusive and later released on PC as well. It could be Sony’s answer to Microsoft cross-platform games with Windows 10 and Xbox One, with the obvious differences here there is not any chance to have a cross-buy option like it happens with PS Vita, PS3 and PS4.
