Far Cry 5’s latest trailer serves up explosions and animal friends

Far Cry 5 may have been delayed, but that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft from showing off a new trailer today, called “The Resistance.” It’s more than that, though. It’s a cavalcade of awesome things that show off just how fun the open world shooter is likely going to be.

As you trek through Hope County in the fight against Eden’s Gate, you’ll be rallying the common folk to unite against a terrifying enemy. While you’re doing that, you’ll be stabbing, shooting, and exploding your way through the gorgeous countryside. There’s also a whole bevy of big brown bears and mountain lions that you can hang out with. It’s adorable, really.

This iteration is going to be a “far cry” from the previous games in the series, as it does away with the world map, for one, like Assassin’s Creed Origins did before it.

Far Cry 5 has been pushed back from its initial release date of Feb. 27 to Mar. 27, 2018 and it will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. That’s probably for the best, since we’re still riding the wave of great games coming out in the early part of next year.
