Far Cry Primal PC Officially Unlocked, 860MB Patch Live, Players Report Error Code 88500014

Far Cry Primal PC version has been officially launch (unlocked) worldwide but the launch is not as smooth as everyone of us expected as players are experiencing some nasty issues when they try to start the game. There is a Day One patch for the PC version of Far Cry Primal PC version weighing 860MB patch. Ubisoft has not yet shared an official changelog so we have to wait a bit more to get to know the changes and improvements the day one patch brings.

Far Cry Primal

Despite installing the Day One patch, many Far Cry Primal PC gamers are receiving the error message: “Sorry, Something Went Wrong” and error code 88500014 flashes on the screen. The interesting part here is that players are receiving this same error code under all circumstances i.e. a clear indication that the problem is on Ubisoft’s end.

We have contacted Ubisoft Helpdesk via Twitter for some update and words on it. Stay tuned as we will update this post as soon as we get to hear something from them. Till then you can read our Far Cry Primal Review and check out our Wiki Page of Far Cry Primal detailing all the how to guides, tips and tricks for survival, complete walkthrough and many other things.

Update 1:

A Ubisoft Developer on Steam has provided a workaround to fix Far Cry Primal Error Code 88500014. Here is what the developer said on Steam:

You receive this error because your firewall is blocking the connection. The connection with the server is needed for an one time online activation only. If the game cannot establish an online connection, please ensure that your firewall does not block outgoing TCP connections from “FCPrimal.exe, UbisoftGameLauncher64.exe and UplayService.exe”

If you need any help doing this, you can check your firewall manufacturer’s website:

  • Windows
  • Bitdefender
  • Avast
  • McAfee

Once you’ve followed these steps, if you’re still encountering problems, please contact our Technical Support Team. Please be sure to provide as much information about your issue, including details on what firewall you’re currently using.
