Final Fantasy 15 launched on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to critical acclaim in 2016, making it one of the best-selling releases on both consoles during its opening month. And now PC gamers will get the chance to experience the title without having to buy a PlayStation or Xbox.
During Nvidia’s gamescom press conference on Monday, Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition. The company is implementing Nvidia Gameswork to bring Final Fantasy 15 over to PC, allowing users to experience high resolution textures, native 4K resolutions, as well as HDR 10 graphics during play. The game even has support for resolutions as large as 8K.
Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition also comes with support for GeForce Experience. This includes gameplay recording, high quality screenshots, and optimized in-game settings for users’ hardware. And the Windows Edition will also receive the game’s season pass DLC and free updates.
“With the help of Nvidia, we are creating a stunning visual experience in Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition, one worthy of this beloved franchise,” Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata said in a press release. “Nvidia pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.”
Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition launches for Windows 10 on Origin and Steam in early 2018. Although the game’s Steam page is live, Windows Edition’s price and system requirements have yet to be announced.
