As promised Rockstar Games has finally revealed the multiplayer portion of GTA V called as “GTA Online”. The developer just shared first gameplay footage of GTA Online via their official YouTube channel.
Rockstar Games revealed that GTA Online will be available for all GTA V owners from October 1, 2013. This date is bit weird considering the fact that GTA V is schedule to launch on September 17, 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
GTA Online will support 16 players at any given time. Here is what Rockstar Games have to say about GTA Online:
The footage shows how Rockstar Games have the fundamental GTA concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and made them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.
“In Grand Theft Auto Online, you’ll have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.”
Access to Grand Theft Auto Online comes at no extra changes and is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V.
