Fortnite: Battle Royale’s latest patch adds a new grenade, plus a limited time mode coming soon

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s newest patch has just gone live, and it includes a brand new grenade that will make things pretty funky on the battlefield.

The Boogie Bomb is the newest weapon in the game, and it’s something of a troll item. This grenade will force anyone in its blast radius to start dancing. When the target is dancing, they can only move and are prevented from building, firing weapons, or using items.

The new grenade will drop in a stack of one with a stack limit of 10. It’s an uncommon item that can be found in treasure chests and supply drops.

While the item is somewhat silly, it still fits within Fortnite’s less-than-realistic aesthetic and gameplay themes. Just imagine the possibilities of game-ending battles like the one above featuring Twitch streamer TimTheTatMan.

Epic also announced a new limited time mode coming to Fortnite: BR called High Explosives. This mode will last from Dec. 28 to Jan. 2 and will feature nothing but explosive weapons. The only weapons in this mode will be snowball launchers, rocket launchers, and all types of grenades.
