You can play Ghost Recon: Wildlands for free this weekend

Are you looking to try out Ghost Recon: Wildlands, but you haven’t quite pulled the trigger on the purchase just yet? The shooter is hosting a free play period beginning today and running through Oct. 15.

Anyone on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC can download and play online for free, with access to the full game. Previously there was a five-hour trial available to would-be Ghost Recon: Wildlands players, but this free weekend allows players to test out the game as long as they’d like during this special promotion.

The new Ghost War PvP mode that just launched on Oct. 10 is available as part of the free weekend as well. It’s a new four-vs-four multiplayer mode where players duke it out to determine who’s the best out of three, 10-minute rounds.

For anyone who decides Ghost Recon: Wildlands is something they’d like to keep in their gaming rotation permanently, the game will be on sale for 50 percent off following the free play period. That makes it just $30, with any progress made during the free play event carrying over to the retail version.

Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 free play periods end on Oct. 15 at 11:59pm PT, while the PC version’s event ends on Oct. 15 at 1pm PT.
