Take-Two Interactive president Strauss Zelnick has provided a few statements during an interview released to thestreet.com, where he talked about Nintendo NX and virtual reality, including PlayStation VR that’s launching on October 13. Let’s take a look at what he thinks he’s coming next for video games. Nintendo NX, first. Take-Two is pretty open when it comes to be supportive in regards of Nintendo and its upcoming platform provisionally called “NX”.
“It could be very exciting. You never want to count Nintendo out. They go quiet for a while and then they come to market and do something really exciting. We are very interested and watching closely the development of what Nintendo plans to do next.”
He’s been showing less enthusiasm when it came to PlayStation VR and virtual reality overall, a business which is struggling to find a standard and something ‘genre’-defining in these first few months (from Oculus Rift and HTC Vive releases).
“Sony is a great consumer marketing company. They’re obviously experts in interactive entertainment. They’ve done a great job with the launch of PlayStation 4. They’re a standard in much of the world, so they’re incredibly well-positioned. But we still don’t know how the consumer will respond to VR.”
