Take-Two Interactive CEO has provided a few interesting statements in a recent Cowen and Company Technology, Media & Telecom Conference speech. According to Strauss Zelnick, new consoles are imminent and Rockstar Games developed GTA Online won’t live forever.
“We do expect GTA Online’s results to moderate because October will be three years since we released it,” he said about GTA V’s multiplayer component.. “Not only was it not our intention that GTA Online was permanent, but it’s important that it not be permanent. We have to rest the franchise at some point.”
Commenting about the possibilties there could new hardware and consoles presented for the first time ever at E3 2016, Zelnick says he doesn’t want to comment but, in case, that won’t be anything bad for games’ producers and publishers.
“Do I expect there will be another iteration of hardware? I do. Do I think that will be good for us? I do. If it doesn’t happen, will it be bad for us? No. Can’t comment on those rumors; does it matter? No.”
E3 2016 kicks off on June 13 at 18:30 CET with Xbox Media Briefing.
