Fans still awaiting for some Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 will be glad to hear there’s a news or two about their favorite games coming from a supposed ex-Valve Corporation employee. According to this anonymous source, Half-Life 3 would ship in Q4 2017 or Q1 2018.
The development cycle would take so much simply because the game is not currently in the works, since Valve would be much more interested in shipping Left 4 Dead 3 first.
Left 4 Dead 3 would be a sequel-prequel to the series, taking place “one month after the infection and at the day of the infection.” Based on what the anonymous explained, we could already have names and bios of the four survivors.
Irvin – A black (not being racist) gangster guy which according to him, was the only one who was able to escape from his “hood,” he will be the new Francis/coach of the game.
Katherine – A stereotypical 24 year old white woman, who used to work as an stewardess on a now long-gone plane-station.
Keenan – Also a black guy, but he’s a comic book nerd, he’s pretty similar to Louis in a way.
Garret Jr. – A stereotypical buffed-up guy, who is a famous Kenpō-fighter in the L4D universe, his melee animations will be different compared to others, but balance-wise, it isn’t any better than other people’s melee’s.
Furthermore, we would even have the six campaigns names: Crash-land, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, Early Destination, Cliff-Hanger and No Mercy, back from the previous chapters. In addition, each character would have a backpack with limited capacity, that once reached would slow down their movements.
This is just a rumor, of course, but being so detailed it could seem something really close to reality. While Half-Life 3 is still a mystery and we don’t actually know if it will never exist, we know Valve is much interested in bringing the Left 4 Dead saga on when the right idea comes.
