Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS3 exclusive game “The Last of Us” has used violence to showcase many important game’s features. And now in a recent interview to ShackNews, developer explained The Last of Us violent nature and it’s use within context of the game.
On The Last of Us’ Violent ways, Neil Druckman said, “The violence you see inside this world isn’t gratuitous and over-the-top just for the sake of being violent,” Druckmann said. “It’s setting a tone. It’s setting a reality that Joel and Ellie are having to deal with… Everything has to feel tense. Everything has to feel grounded in reality. The reason why we’re going for such realistic violence is because we want you to believe that the stakes are high for Ellie and Joel.”
Druckmann further added the survial nature of The Last of Us makes violence unavoidable for gamers, but at the end of it, “they should feel bad when they kill these guys because they’re trying to survive as well.”
The Last of Us is schedule to launch on May 7 for PS3. What you guys think, is The Last of Us Too Violent?. Let us know your views in the comment section below.
