Aztez, an upcoming turn-based strategy title from TeamColorbind where players expand and maintain the Aztec empire through turn-based strategy while managing violent outbreaks via real-time beat ’em up sequences. The game looks pretty unique with “Black And White” graphics/visuals. The game is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
To get some more information on Aztez we recently got in touch with Aztez’s Ben Ruiz, Combat Designer And Artist, Team Colorblind and talked on various aspects of the game such as “why development went for Black and White graphics, resolution at which the game runs on PS4/Xbox One and many more things.
We asked Ben about one of the most interesting part of the game, “Graphics”. Making use of a limited number of colors how TeamColorblind created something special like Aztez?
“I thought it would be a fun artistic challenge to utilize an unusual art style. But it also happened to help me from a production point of view, because the style makes it easier for me, the entire art and combat team, create the rich environments you see in the game.” replied Ben.
When asked to give out details regarding what resolution Aztez will run on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Ben replied:
“The game will run on the respective console’s native resolutions i.e 1080p/60 FPS on both”
For those who are still not aware of Aztez, here is the trailer showcasing what TeamColorblind has in store for us.
